Our range of special needs bathroom facilities are aimed at making like easier for individuals with mobility difficulties, such as the elderly or those with a disability. This includes special toilet seats which are higher than standard seats and often come with a back rest between the cistern and the bowl in order to provide support.
There are also close coupled versions where the cistern is attached to the toilet and sits at 90 degrees, allowing it to be used as a backrest. The bowl of the toilet may also project further into the bathroom than a typical seat. Most have soft close and dual flush facilities.
Other products include hinged shower seats, hinged support rails and fixed grab rails.
What is a Doc M pack?
Here at Bathroom Supastore we also stock a variety of Doc M Packs. These are toilet facilities which meet the government’s disability guidelines (known as Document M). For instance, grab rails in commercial premises have to be either darker or lighter than the colour of the toilet walls in order to be distinguishable for an individual with limited sight. In this respect we offer Doc M Packs with black and dark blue rails, as well as white versions.
As you might imagine, our Doc M packs are mostly used for commercial premises rather than for domestic use. Restaurants, retailers, nursing homes and hotels are all clients.
How do shower seats work?
Our cushioned and hinged tower seats are attached to the wall and some also come with support legs reaching to the floor of the shower or shower tray. The seats simply provide support for those who find it too difficult to stand for long periods in the shower unsupported. They are easily affixed to the wall using screws.
