This is something we've seen more of in the US, however there are more and more signs of this creeping into bathrooms across the UK too. Christmas bathroom decor pops up on our social feeds in the run up to the festive season and can sometimes be considered as going over the top with the Christmas cheer. If not, take a look at our bathroom decorating ideas and how a few little additions you can make to really brighten up your bathroom this Christmas!

Shower curtain

If you have a shower over your bath, then this is a super easy change that can really 'Christmas-ify' your bathroom. It's also very cost effective and can be picked up really easily. Just looking online, you can find an array of designs. From Santa Claus to an elegant snowy scene or a snowman to Christmas carol lyrics. An advantage to using something simple like a shower curtain to change up your bathroom for the festive season is it can be cleaned and packed away with your other decorations to be used year after year.

A mini Christmas tree

Small Christmas trees come in all shapes and sizes these days. If you want a modern look you can choose a wooden, minimalist looking tree. Or if you want full on Christmas spirit then these little beauties come in tinsel versions, in every colour possible! The good thing about these little trees is you can pop them on the back of your loo, a windowsill or choose a tall skinny one and pop it on the floor next to your bath! The possibilities are endless and you certain don't have to limit yourself to just one! @housekidscats does this look perfectly.

Toilet seat cover

These days you don't see toilet seat covers very often. But back in the day, these were common place in the bathroom. We have to admit that this look is somewhat outdated however, if you're limited on space and do want to add a festive touch to your bathroom, this can be a good time to revive the trend! You can also find matching toilet seat covers and bath mats as a set, which can be an investment you can use year after year. And you can just use one or the other on alternate years if it's too much.

Fairy Lights

Gone are the days of needing a plug to power your Christmas lights. There are so many battery powered options now, that adding a set to your bathroom can be safe, whilst creating ample holiday cheer. You can also choose an outdoor battery operated set just for the reassurance that the humidity won't ruin your display. Fairy lights can be added around shelves or the bath trim for a Christmassy vibe. It'll also mean the children will be far more likely to want to bath! Can we appreciate just how pretty @burrowandme 's bathroom looks with the fair lights around the wall.

Christmas Bathroom Decor

Manufacturers are aware that more and more families like to decorate their entire homes over the festive period and as such, produce Christmas decorations for almost every room. A quick and easy way to include this into your bathroom is adding in some Christmas ornaments. Such as a Christmas theme soap dispenser or jars for essentials. Another great way of adding Christmas decoration is with a wreath. This can be as bright and colourful or as simplistic and understated as you want but still give off that Christmas bathroom vibe.

A sprinkling of Christmas

If you don't want to seem as though you're actually decorating your bathroom there are still somethings you can do to make your bathroom slightly more festive than the rest of the year. For example, changing your hand towel, bath towel and washcloths from their original colour to red or patterned. Popping in some sparkled christmas candles or a festive scented candle. You can also change existing prints to something with a festive touch. We love @alwayschasinglife 's Fa La La letters!
